"Wai" is the traditional Thai posture of greeting, hands folded, with their position high or mid-chest depending upon relation between the people greeting. Higher the hands and lower the bow, the more respect is shown.
The same posture is performed in India, however there is no variation in hand position or head posture. In India, the greeting is "Namaste"
